The total area of the two maize plots is 100 hectares. At the first site, 90 tons of green mass of corn were collected from 1 hectare, and at the second – 80 tons each. Find the area of each site, if 2200 tons more were collected from the first site than from the second.

1. According to the condition of the problem, the total area of the two sites is 100 hectares.
Let X m be the area of the first of them.
Then (100 – X) ha is the area of the second.
2. It is known that 90 tons of corn per hectare were harvested from the first site.
It means that in total 90 * X tons were collected from it.
From the second site, 80 tons per hectare were collected.
The weight of maize in the second section was 80 * (100 – X) tons.
3. The task says that 2200 tons more were collected from the first section.
90 * X – 80 * (100 – X) = 2200.
170 * X – 8000 = 2200.
170 * X = 10200.
X = 60 hectares – the area of the first field.
100 – 60 = 40 hectares – the second.
Answer: The area of the plots is 60 hectares and 40 hectares.
