In order to find the area of a trapezoid, let’s recall the formula for finding the area of a trapezoid through the height and base of the trapezoid.
S = 1/2 * h * (a + b).
The area of the trapezoid is equal to the product of the height and the half-sum of the bases.
We just have to substitute the known values and write down the answer.
Substitute and calculate:
S = 1/2 * 0.5 * (6.7 + 4.3) = 1/4 * 11 = 2.75 cm2.
The area of the trapezoid is 2.75 cm2.
Answer: S = 215 cm2.
