The trolleybus speed is 30 km / h, and the passenger’s speed over the ground is 10 km / h. Find the passenger’s speed relative to the trolleybus and the direction of its movement.

There are two cases to consider in this problem:
The first is when the trolleybus and the passenger are moving in different directions. In this case, the passenger’s speed relative to the trolleybus will be equal to the sum of their speeds: V = 40 km / h.
The second is when the trolleybus and the passenger are moving in the same direction. Then, the passenger’s speed relative to the trolleybus will be equal to the difference between their speeds: V = 20 km / h
