The two sides of the parallelogram are 6 and 5. From their common vertex to the other two sides, the heights are lowered. The length of the smaller one is 4. Find the length of the other height.

1. Vertices of the parallelogram A, B, C, D. Side CD = 5 units. Side AD = 6 units. BE = 4 units of measure – lower height (drawn to the AD side. ВK – higher height (drawn to the CD side)

2. Calculate the area (S) of the parallelogram:

S = AD x BE = 6 x 4 = 24 units².

3. We calculate the length of the height of the ВК using another formula for calculating the area of the parallelogram:

S = CD x ВK.

ВK = S: CD = 24: 5 = 4.8 units.
