The two sides of the triangle have the same length equal to 60dm, the perimeter of the triangle is 1600cm, find the length of the third side.
In order to get the correct result, we bring all the data indicated in this problem to a single unit of measurement: decimetres – knowing that, by definition, there are ten centimeters in one decimeter:
1600: 10 = 160.
Let us determine how many centimeters the length of its two sides is equal to, knowing by the condition of the problem that the triangle is isosceles:
60 * 2 = 120.
Let’s determine what is the length of the unknown side, knowing that the perimeter is 160 decimeters:
160 – 120 = 40.
