According to Ohm’s law, the amount of current is directly proportional to the applied voltage and inversely proportional to its resistance:
I = U / R
Let us express the resistance from this expression:
R = U / I
Substituting the numerical values, we have:
R = U / I = 220 / 0.5 = 440 Ohm
Answer: the resistance of the lamp is 400 ohms.
