We take for x the mass of copper contained in the alloy, then the mass of silver in the alloy will be equal to:
80 * x / 100 = 0.8 * x. Since the sum of the masses of silver and copper make up the mass of the alloy, we obtain the equation:
x + 0.8x = 7.2
1.8 * x = 7.2
x = 7.2 / 1.8 = 4 kg.
