The width of a rectangular parallelepiped is 4.5 cm, which is 2 times less than its length and 0.9 cm more than its height. Find: 1) the sum of the lengths of all its edges 2) the area of its surfaces, its volume.
1) Calculate the length of the parallelepiped:
4.5 * 2 = 9 cm.
2) Find out the height of the parallelepiped:
4.5 – 0.9 = 3.6 cm.
3) Find the sum of the lengths of all edges of the parallelepiped:
4.5 * 4 + 9 * 4 + 3.6 * 4 = 18 + 36 + 14.4 = 68.4 cm.
4) Calculate the total surface area of the parallelepiped:
4.5 * 9 * 2 + 4.5 * 3.6 * 2 + 3.6 * 9 * 2 = 81 + 32.4 + 64.8 = 178.2 cm ^ 2.
5) Find the volume of a given parallelepiped:
4.5 * 9 * 3.6 = 145.8 cm ^ 3.
Answer: 1) the sum of the lengths of the ribs is 68.4 cm; 2) surface area – 178.2 cm ^ 2; volume – 145.8 cm ^ 3.
