We calculate the perimeter of the classroom, provided that its width is 15 m, and its length is 5 m more, according to the formula, to calculate the sum of all sides of the rectangle:

P = 2a + 2b = 2 * (15 + 5) + 2 * 15. First of all, we find the value in brackets, then we perform multiplication, and only then addition, all actions in order – from left to right:

P = 2 * 30 + 30 = 60 + 30 = 90 m.
