1) According to Chargaff’s rule, in a double-stranded DNA molecule, the sum of adenine and guanine is equal to the sum of thymine and cytosine, which is 50% of the total. The amount of thymine is equal to the amount of adenine, the amount of cytosine is equal to guanine.
2) Find the amount of cytosine.
3200 * 0.26 = 832 nucleotides.
The same number of guanine nucleotides.
3) 3200/2 = 1600 nucleotides are for adenine and guanine (or thymine and cytosine).
1600 – 832 = 768 nucleotides of adenine in two chains, the same amount of thymine.
