| There is water in the cistern of the street watering machine. Determine the changes in mass and weight of the machine if it spills V = 400 liters of water.
These tasks: V (volume of water spilled from the tank) = 400 l (in SI V = 0.4 m3).
Reference values: ρw (density of spilled water) = 1000 kg / m3; g (acceleration due to gravity) = 9.81 m / s2.
1) Determine the change in the mass of the street watering machine: Δm = ρw * V = 1000 * 0.4 = 400 kg.
2) Change in machine weight: ΔP = Δm * g = 400 * 9.81 = 3924 N.
Answer: The mass of the street watering machine will decrease by 400 kg; weight will decrease by 3924 N.
