Think about how you can explain the great variety of living organisms on our planet?
Biodiversity exists at various interdependent levels of an organization that fit together. Scientists generally believe that there are three levels: gene diversity, species diversity, and ecosystem diversity. In addition to this, there is a variety of interactions within the other three levels, and functional diversity, that is, a variety of functional characteristics of these organisms, regardless of the species to which they belong. Biodiversity is not limited to the sum of species, but represents all interactions between living things, as well as their physicochemical environment at several levels.
Biodiversity offers indispensable goods for our daily life: oxygen, food, medicines and many raw materials (wood, fibers such as wool, cotton, etc.).
