Through which islands did the Vikings go to America and where did the Vikings establish their settlements? did they stay there?

When the Vikings began to sail westward, they first reached the Isle of Britain. After many decades, they began to use it as a base for travel to the northwest and reached Iceland. After that, they discovered the neighboring island – Greenland. Descending south, the Vikings finally reached a large island off the American coast – Newfoundland. It was here and on the neighboring Labrador Peninsula that they founded colonies, which, however, did not last long. After some time, the Vikings stopped traveling to America altogether.
