At rest, the volume of air in a person is – 200 – 300 ml. The value of the tidal volume depends on the degree of adaptation of a person to physical activity. For example, with intense physical work, the respiratory volume of a person in the lungs can increase even up to 500 ml or more. Also, there is an inspiratory reserve volume (the amount of air that can be introduced into the lungs if, following a calm inspiration, a maximum inspiration is made). The inspiratory reserve volume is 1500-2000 ml.
