To 1000 g of 80% acetic acid, 3 liters of water are added. Find the percentage concentration of the solution.

Acetic acid formula: CH3COOH.
1) Find the mass of the acetic acid solute. To do this, we express the desired mass from the formula: W = (mr.w – va / mr – pa) * 100%: 1000 * 80/100 = 800g.
2) Find the mass of added water. To do this, multiply the volume of water (in ml) by its density: 1000 * 1 = 1000g.
3) Find the mass of the solution after adding water: 1000 + 1000 = 2000g.
4) Using the formula from paragraph 1, we calculate the mass fraction of acetic acid in the resulting solution: 800/2000 * 100 = 40% – the answer.
