To provide the population of the town with electricity, a 100 MW power plant is needed. What current is cured passes through the power line if the voltage in it is 500 kV?

Under the assumption that the power of consumers will be equal to the power of the power plant, we determine the current in the line from the power formula: P = U * I; where U is the voltage, I is the current. Hence I = P / U = 100000000/500000 = 200 A. (We substitute the power in the formula in Watts, the voltage in Volts, the current strength in Amperes).
