The analyzer consists of receptors, a sensory nerve and the corresponding area of the cerebral cortex.
Olfactory receptors are located in the nasal cavity and are chemoreceptors, as they are irritated by chemical molecules. A nerve impulse arises in the receptors, which enters the olfactory zone of the cerebral cortex through the olfactory nerve, where it is deciphered and the person has a sensation of this or that smell. The olfactory zone is located on the inner side of the temporal lobes.
