Two bulbs are connected in parallel. The voltage on the second lamp is 10 V. Find the current in the circuit and on each of the lamps, if the resistance on the first lamp is 1 ohm, and on the second 2 ohms.

As you know, the bulbs are connected in parallel, the voltages across them are equal.
1. Then the current in the first light bulb:
i1 = 10/1;
i1 = 10 A.
2. Then the current in the second light bulb:
i2 = 10/2;
i2 = 5 A.
3. Current strength in the unbranched part of the circuit:
i = i1 + i2;
i = 15A.
Answer: i1 = 10 A, i2 = 5 A, i = 15 A.
