Two cyclists left two cities to meet each other at the same time. The speed of the first one is 11 km / h, the second is 12 km / h. In 3 hours they will meet. What is the distance between cities?
Since, according to the condition of the problem, the cyclists rode towards each other, then we need to find out the speed of their convergence. For this, to the speed of one cyclist, equal to 11 km / h, we add the speed of the other cyclist, which is, according to the condition, 12 km / h. So, we get:
11 + 12 = 23 (km / h).
In order to determine the distance between the cities from which the cyclists left, the found speed of their convergence must be multiplied by the time after which they will meet:
23 * 3 = 69 (km).
Answer: 69 km.
