| Two cyclists set off in opposite directions from two villages. When one traveled 40 km and the other 50 km, they were at a distance of 300 km from each other. Find out the distance between the villages.
We solve the action problem as follows:
1) 40 + 50 = 90 (km) this is the distance the cyclists moved from each other after they left the villages in opposite directions.
2) 300 – 90 = 210 (km) the required distance between settlements.
Answer: 210 km.
