Two forces act on a material point, the moduli of which are F1 = 15H and F2 = 11H, and the directions are opposite. Find the modulus of the resultant of these forces.
Since the force vectors F1 = 15 N and F2 = 11 N are directed in opposite directions (vectors are oppositely directed), they are collinear. Therefore, to calculate the resultant of these forces, it is sufficient to subtract the modulus of the other from the modulus of one force.
