Two planes took off from the airfield simultaneously in opposite directions. The speed of one of them is 900 km / h, and the speed of the other is 850 km / h. What is the distance between them in 3 hours?

1) 900 + 850 = 1750 km / h – the total speed of aircraft movement (or the speed of their removal from the airfield).

2) 1750 * 3 = 5250 km – this will be the distance between the planes in 3 hours.

Method 2.

1) Let’s calculate how many kilometers the first plane will fly in 3 hours at a speed of 900 km / h:

900 * 3 = 2700 km.

2) Find the distance that the second plane will fly during this time at a speed of 850 km / h:
