Two test tubes contain solutions of glycerin and protein. How to distinguish them using the same reagent?

A qualitative reaction to proteins is their interaction with bivalent copper hydroxide Cu (OH) 2. As a result of the interaction, violet-colored complexes are formed. This reaction is called biuret.

When glycerol interacts with Cu (OH) 2, a salt is formed – copper glycerate, and the solution itself turns bright blue.
