Cu + ½ O2 = CuO ↑;
Let’s calculate the chemical amount of oxygen. For this purpose, we divide the mass of the available substance by the weight of 1 mole.
M O2 = 16 x 2 = 32 grams / mol;
N O2 = 8/32 = 0.25 mol;
With this amount of oxygen, twice the amount of copper oxide will be synthesized. The reaction will enter 0.25 x 2 = 0.5 mol of copper.
Determine the weight of the copper. To do this, multiply the amount of the substance by the weight of 1 mole of the substance.
M Cu = 64 grams / mol;
