Was the defeat of the confederation-union of the slave-owning states of the United States inevitable?

The defeat of the Confederacy was only a matter of time. The army of the northerners had factories, mines, a navy, a constantly growing army of emigrants, ready to fight for next to nothing, while the southerners had only cotton and slaves. There is practically no production, during the continental blockade there was nowhere to replenish stocks. So defeat was absolutely inevitable.
