We need information about the military affairs of the Moscow principality in the XIV-XV centuries.

During this period between 1300 and 1500, military affairs evolved from the squad of princes to the service class, it was for the purpose of its maintenance that serfdom was created in 1497. The army consisted of infantry and cavalry, it could fight in the west with the army of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, with the Livonian Order, Sweden and in the east and south with the Tatars, as well as with the squads of other princes.

There was also a small number of firearms, in 1382 the guns were used in the defense of Moscow, and in 1480 – during the battles on the Ugra River with Khan Akhmat.
