What achievements did the great navigators make during the Renaissance?

The Renaissance era in geography is the time of the discovery of new lands.
Bartolomeu Dias set the goal of his journey – finding a sea route to India. He first rounded Africa, reached its southern point. The accounts of his voyage became the basis for the development of the Vasco da Gama route, which reached the shores of India (1497-1499).
1492 year. Discovery of the New World by Christopher Columbus.
1502-1504. The expedition of Amerigo Vespuchi explored the coast of South America, the eastern side of the mainland. Then it became clear that Columbus and Vespuchi had discovered new continents.
Magellan, by his circumnavigation (1519 – 1522), confirmed that the Earth is round.
