What adaptations do squid have for fast swimming?

Squid belongs to cephalopods. Squids move thanks to jet propulsion. They pass a stream of water by means of muscle contraction from the mantle cavity through a special funnel (formed from the back of the mollusk’s leg), moving forward by inertia (movement in squid tail forward). They lack a shell, and the body shape is as streamlined as possible, pointed at the ends. The tail has fins – triangular stabilizers. There are one pair of tentacles more than that of octopuses; when moving, they are attached with special suction cups to each other and to the rest of the tentacles, increasing aerodynamics.
