What admires me, what do I condemn in the actions of Spartacus?

Delights:

1. How he managed to organize an uprising in the gladiatorial school, his courage and composure;

2. How he managed to get out on his own and get his people out of Vesuvius;

3. His leadership talent;

4. His ability to inspire former slaves to resist Rome, to lead them.

I condemn:

1. Excessive cruelty towards prisoners or captured Romans (although the Romans often treated slaves much worse);

2. Gullibility towards Sicilian pirates;

3. That he allowed the division of the army.
