What ancient kingdom was located on the territory of Tajikistan and Afghanistan?

In these territories, once upon a time there was an ancient Bactrian state. Back in the 1st millennium BC. on this territory there was a large slave state with the center in the city of Balkh. Later in the 6th century BC. these lands became part of the Median kingdom, and even later became part of the Persian Empire. In 330 BC. the Bactrian governor kills the Persian king Darius III and proclaims himself the king of Bactria. True in 329 BC. he was defeated by Alexander the Great.
