What animals are invertebrates?

Invertebrates include animal organisms that do not have a spinal column and an internal skeleton. This term was proposed by J. Lamarck in 1801. This group includes all protozoa (unicellular), as well as multicellular organisms. These include: coelenterates, worms (flat, round, annelids), sponges, arthropods (crustaceans, arachnids, insects), molluscs. Invertebrates are characterized by different habitats: water, soil, air, internal environment of the host organism.
