What are precautionary vaccinations for?

Vaccination is the introduction into the human (or animal) body of a special medicine – a vaccine. The vaccine contains a bacterium or a virus that cannot cause illness in all its forms. These are special, weakened viruses, bacteria, or just pieces of bacteria. Such weak particles affect the immune system, make it create antibodies against the disease. Thus, vaccination “teaches” the body to fight infection in the future, when a person is faced with a real, contagious disease.
