What are pyramids for what purpose were they built?

Ancient Egyptian pyramids. and there are many of them, besides the colossal ones in Giza, served as tombs for the pharaohs and the nobility. They were built from different materials, in particular the Great Pyramids at Giza from sandstone. They had a pyramidal shape, older pyramids, like the Djoser pyramid, had a stepped shape.

In the pyramid, deep behind its stone, there were tombs, where a sarcophagus was placed with the mummy of the one who was buried there. All the pyramids have now been plundered.

The construction of the pyramids lasted for 25 years, while the pharaoh was preparing his own tomb.
