What are reflexes, give examples of reflexes?

A reflex is the body’s response to any stimulus involving the nervous system. Reflexes are of two types: unconditioned (congenital) and conditioned (acquired). Unconditioned reflexes include, for example, the reflex of withdrawing the hand from a hot one, the salivary reflex, closing the head with the hands during an impending blow, turning the head to loud sounds. Conditioned reflexes are the body’s reactions to certain changes in the environment acquired during life.
