What are the advantages of the Greek alphabet over the Egyptian hieroglyphs?

Egyptian hieroglyphs did not denote letters, as is customary today, but words or phenomena. There were many hieroglyphs in total, namely about 6000. Therefore, the children spent a lot of time studying – it was extremely difficult to remember everything. For several years, hieroglyphs were studied in Egyptian schools, and no attention was paid to music, gymnastics, singing, oratory, as in Greece. Due to this type of writing, it was not possible to preserve ancient poetic works.

In Ancient Greece, the letter alphabet was used, which saved time in schools, and Greek children additionally studied humanitarian subjects, improved spiritually and physically.
