What are the areas of application for starch and cellulose?

Starch:
1. It is used by mother nature. It accumulates in tubers, grains, seeds of plants, and then is used as a source of reserve nutrition.
2. Food. For humans and animals, this is a fairly common carbohydrate. Wheat, rice, potatoes, corn all contain starch.
3 Gen. Once upon a time (and maybe somewhere still) starch was used for starching clothes (this gave mechanical stiffness). Starch paste is used for gluing wallpaper.
4. Industry. Starch is used to produce glucose, molasses and ethanol. They also process fabrics. Well, the food industry (for example, the production of mayonnaise, ketchup)

Cellulose:
1.Pharmaceuticals. As a filler in some tablets.
2. Production: fabrics (cotton is up to 99% cellulose), artificial fibers (viscose, acetate fiber, artificial fur). Wood pulp is used for the production of: paper, plastics, smokeless powder.
