What are the characteristic features of the nature of the Pacific Ocean?

The Pacific Ocean is the largest and oldest of all oceans, sometimes it is also called the Great Ocean. The ocean plays a huge, key role in human life, half of the world’s fish catch is located here, most of all there are shellfish, crabs and shrimps. Metals are being mined on the Pacific shelf, and oil is being mined near California. The Pacific Ocean is also the deepest ocean and many sea routes pass through its territory.
