What are the characteristics of biocenosis and phytocenosis?

A biocenosis is a collection of all living organisms in a certain and relatively homogeneous area of the territory (whether it be land or aquatic environment) and interconnected, as well as with the environment that surrounds them. In other words, these are all animals, plants and fungi that live in a certain area like a forest or lake. Biocenosis, as a rule, is characterized by species diversity.

A phytocenosis is a collection of all plants growing in a certain area. As a rule, it mainly consists of representatives of one species (low species diversity). It is the main part of the biocenosis, since plants produce organic compounds from inorganic ones.
