What are the characteristics of the English church?

In protest of the restrictions of the Catholic Church in the 16th century, the English king created his own Anglican Church. It was different from the traditional Catholic and was more Protestant. Its main features were secular character. the head of the church was the king. The Pope had no power over the Church of England. Services were conducted there in the national language.
