What are the characteristics of wind-pollinated plants?

Flowers can be pollinated in several ways. The main method is with the help of insects that carry pollen by collecting nectar. The second method is wind pollination. This is when pollen with gusts of wind is transferred from the stamens that secrete pollen to the pistils of other flowers. Such pollination is unlikely. Therefore, plants have special adaptations that help them increase the chances of wind pollination. Much more pollen is emitted than in those flowers that are pollinated by insects. Also flowers are collected in inflorescences.
