What are the consequences of the victory of Rome over Carthage?

The Roman Republic fought against Carthage for a long time. There were three conflicts in total, all of which ended with the victory of Rome. At the very beginning, Rome was inferior in might to the Carthaginian state. But after the end of the war, Rome grew significantly in its power. He was able to capture the territory of Carthage (part of Spain, islands in the Mediterranean and North Africa). Thus, the Roman Republic was able to become the most powerful state in the Mediterranean.
