Differences in the training of boys in ancient Sparta and Athens were quite tangible. Consider the example of the Spartans. Already from the very birth in Sparta, babies were checked, if the child turned out to be weak, he was thrown into the abyss. At the age of 7, the youths were sent to special camps, where they learned to survive every day. After that, at the age of 13, they began to undergo severe combat training, and only after reaching the age of 17 they could become real warriors.
