What are the external characteristics of the Greek gods and goddesses?

In Greek mythology, the gods acted as something very powerful and inaccessible to man. They could punish a person in an instant by turning him into a stone or other thing. They could also resurrect the deceased. In addition to all this, the gods of Olympus were immortal and possessed incredible beauty. Some legends say that when one young man accidentally saw the goddess naked, she could immediately turn him into an animal or, even worse, kill him. Sometimes the gods encouraged a person for his deeds, as in the example of Hercules, and took him to Olim. Immortality was immediately granted to him.
