What are the features of colonialism on the example of the policy of England in India?

With the beginning of the New Time and the discovery of new lands, the so-called colonial stage in the history of mankind began. The developed European countries established authority over the less developed states. The largest colonial country was England. India was one of its colonial lands. So, the Indian lands lost their independence, the population and lands were plundered, the production went to the treasury of the metropolis, i.e. England. The British pitted the local authorities against each other. Only goods produced in England were imported into the colony, a monopoly was established.
