What are the features of the American mentality?

American compliments mean no more than smiles. That is, they do not mean anything, unless, except for the absence of an obviously hostile attitude towards you. If your American boss praises you at work, you shouldn’t expect a promotion, bonus, or anything like that.
Silence is not a sign of consent. Although there is freedom of speech in this country. They can listen to you in silence, without arguing, simply because they do not want to waste time and energy on an argument, or they consider it beneath their own dignity.
Americans do not recognize second and third places. Either you are a winner or a loser, there is no other way.
Despite the fact that there have never been wars in America, people who have endured many trials and pains in their countries came there. This certainly affects the behavior and attitude of Americans towards the world around them.
They do not always keep their word. If it is not spelled out in the contract, if a person will not receive anything for an unchecked promise, one should not particularly trust.
