What are the features of the ethnic and religious composition of the European population?

An interesting feature of the religious composition of Europe is the large number of atheists, especially in the northern and central parts of it, for example, in the Czech Republic and Sweden. Of the world religions, Christianity is the most widespread: Protestantism (northern and central), Catholicism (southern, from Spain to Croatia), Orthodoxy (Greece, Serbia, Bulgaria, Romania, partly Albania).
Islam is popular among migrants, especially in France and Germany.
Ethnically, the population belongs to the Romano-Germanic, Slavic, Albanian, Celtic and Baltic groups of the Indo-European language family. The Finno-Ugric peoples include Hungarians, Estonians and Finns. A significant number of representatives of the Turkic group of the Altai language family (Turks) live in Germany.
European countries can be divided into mono-national, for example, Poland or Portugal, or bi-national (Belgium).
