What are the features of the structure of the stomach?

There are four main areas in the stomach: the cardia, fundus, body, and pylorus.

The cardia (or heart area) is the point at which the esophagus connects to the stomach and through which food passes into the stomach. Below the diaphragm, above and to the left of the cardia, there is a domed bottom. Below the bottom is the body, the main part of the stomach. The funnel-shaped pylorus connects the stomach and duodenum. The pyloric antrum connects to the body of the stomach. The pyloric canal connects to the duodenum.
