What are the Franciscans and the Dominicans? What is the difference ?

The Franciscans were formed in the 12th century.

1) are a mendicant brotherhood;

2) lived by alms;

3) traveled throughout Europe;

4) led the way of life that they preached.

Dominicans. This order was formed in the 13th century.

1) “The Dogs of the Lord”. Refused wealth;

2) engaged in the fight against church apostates;

3) studied sciences, many of them taught at universities;

4) occupied an important place in the Inquisition.
