What are the functions of the circulatory system of amphibians?

Amphibians have a small and a large circle of blood circulation, and the heart includes one ventricle, arterial cone and two atria. A common trunk of the aorta emerges from the arterial cone, which then divides into pairs of arterial vessels; the latter are only three – carotid arteries, left and right aortic arches. There is also an unpaired, dorsal aorta, which is located along the spine and sends arteries from itself to other organs, and pulmonary-cutaneous arteries, which go to the lungs and skin. The circulatory system of amphibians is designed so that blood from the ventricle flows through the arteries to all tissues and organs, and then from them flows through the veins into the right atrium – this is a large circle of blood circulation.
