What are the main differences between the Marxist and Narodnik teachings?

Marxists and populists formed on the territory of the Russian Empire in the 19th century. The Narodniks appeared before the Marxists. The main social class on which they relied was the peasantry. It was his populists who considered “the salt of the earth.” Later, the organization was divided into radical and liberal populists, terrorist groups appeared, one of which killed Tsar Alexander II. Russian Marxist parties emerged in 1883 in Geneva from the former populists. They relied on the proletariat of the big cities. Most of their activities were carried out in the West until 1917.
